Job Description

Okanagan Staffing Services is seeking a Full-time Accountant to join a dynamic organization in Kelowna. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple departments. As the Accountant, you will supervise Accounting Assistants, manage financial operations, and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounting Assistants and coordinate with various departments.
  • Manage budget, month-end, and year-end financial procedures.
  • Review trial balance, balance sheets, payroll, AP/AR, and bank statement reconciliations.
  • Prepare and manage monthly financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and statutory reporting.
  • Provide input for audit processes and collaborate with auditors to ensure timely delivery of information.
  • Enhance the efficiency of accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Accounting degree with a minimum of 3 years of finance-related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Federal and other types of funding agreements is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines and work under pressure.
